Saving Money the Easy Way

CNT’s Energy Smart Pricing Program ESPP continues to prove that consumers are looking for opportunities to save money. ESPP, an electricity pricing experiment, offers Chicago area residents a special electricity rate–one that is based on the hourly market price of electricity, rather than the price-protected rate everyone else pays. Consumers in the program are saving about 15% on their electricity bills, and becoming smarter energy consumers in the process. And everyone stands to benefit from such a program, since it reduces stress on the energy grid. Read about ESPP, the only program of its kind in the country, Chicago Sun Times, after the jump.

CNT CEO Appointed to Illinois Commerce Commission

CNT congratulates CEO Bob Lieberman on his appointment to the Illinois Commerce Commission. Governor Rod Blagojevich announced the 5-year appointment, effective February 1. Lieberman has served as CNT’s chief executive since 1998, when he joined the organization after a distinguished career in Illinois state government, and has made a significant contribution to advancing the organization’s mission. Everyone at CNT wishes him well in his new position.
