Webinar Explains How Planners Might Use the H+T Index

More than 200 planners, city officials, and other members of the American Planning Association (APA) from around the country joined presenters from CNT recently for a webinar showcasing current applications of the Housing and Transportation (H+T®) Affordability Index in the planning field. The webinar was part of the APA’s monthly webcast series. The presentation, delivered by CNT’s own Maria Choca-Urban, Peter Haas, and Stephanie Morse, detailed why and how the Index was developed, described how different communities are using it, and provided a demonstration of the H+T Index website. Participants were highly engaged and asked insightful questions about model inputs, data sources and methods used in the highlighted projects. You can watch a recording of the webinar at http://www.utah-apa.org/webcast-archive.

The H+T Index is currently being updated to incorporate data from the 2005-2009 American Community Survey. Sign up for CNT’s e-newsletter, fan us on Facebook, or follow us on Twitter to be the first to know when the new H+T Index is launched later this year.

Note: to watch the recording, viewers must have version 9 or higher of Windows Media Player and may be required to download a plug-in (https://www.gotomeeting.com/codec).
