Curtis Witek joined CNT in 2016 as an Associate for the RainReady program. Curtis supports a variety of risk assessment, economic development and resilience planning tasks associated with the rapidly expanding RainReady program. Curtis also serves as a member of CNT’s Young Innovators associate board.
Curtis is passionate about planning and designing resilient and livable places that revitalize both human and natural communities and the relationship between them. Prior to joining CNT, Curtis was a Mayoral Fellow for the City of Chicago and a member of the City’s Resilience Team, in which he helped develop Chicago’s resilience strategy. Curtis’ project portfolio includes an award-winning Green Infrastructure Master Plan for the University of Illinois at Chicago, a Water Trail Action Plan for the Calumet Area Waterways, several ethnographic studies supporting implementation of the Chicago Climate Change Action Plan, and various other community planning and civic hacking projects.
Curtis has a Master’s in Urban Planning and Policy from the University of Illinois at Chicago, Bachelor of Science in Environmental Studies and Urban Studies certificate from Wheaton College (IL), and a certificate in Land Resource Analysis from the Au Sable Institute of Environmental Studies.
