Community Walkability
The pedestrian environment of every community goes beyond the physical
presence of sidewalks and traffic signals. The walkability of a community can
be seen as an indicator of a neighborhood's quality of life as well as a
statement of community values.
Indicators - What makes a
community walkable? There are many factors that invite pedestrians to a
neighborhood's streets as well as unsafe conditions that discourage pedestrians
travel.
Humboldt Park - Walkers Win!
continues to work with Humboldt Park residents and organizations to create a
more walkable community.
