Who We Are

Walkers Win! focuses on the creation of pedestrian friendly environments and to encourage people to move away from cars towards walking and transit as a means of transportation. We want to draw attention to obstacles in and raise consciousness about possible improvements of the pedestrian environment, e.g. condition and comfort of sidewalks, traffic calming measures, appropriate signage, access to shopping facilities and public transportation etc. We further want to encourage citizen involvement in the planning of their neighborhoods.

The Center for Neighborhood Technology has a history of developing and promoting ideas of economic growth in a socially and environmentally conscious environment with an emphasis on local communities. Its vision of the urban neighborhood is one that allows its inhabitants to live in a safe, healthy and comfortable environment.
