As an innovation-focused organization, the Center for Neighborhood Technology needs to constantly generate and explore new ideas and relationships. I was happy to discover early in my time here (I’m now three weeks in) that CNT hosts an excellent network of young professionals who help accomplish this mission.
CNT’s Young Innovators group is a community of young professionals working to actively engage with new ideas about urban sustainability and resilience. The Young Innovators host events – panels, tours, happy hours, and more – throughout the year. I’ll be meeting the members of this group at their annual end-of-summer event on Saturday, September 22. All are welcome to join – friends and partners of CNT, prospective members of the Young Innovators group, people who like rooftop restaurants, and any others.
The diversity of backgrounds among our Young Innovators, who include data experts, design professionals, communications specialists, and others, is a great resource for CNT – and one that we need to take more advantage of. I’m looking forward to working with all of these talented people to make their participation in Young Innovators as valuable as possible for them and for CNT. If you’re interested in being part of this, I hope to see you on September 22!
The 2018 Sustainable Summer Fundraiser is set for Saturday, September 22 from 12:00-3:00pm at Homestead on the Roof, a rooftop restraurant with an organic garden and seasonal cuisine in Chicago's West Town neighborhood. Tickets include all food and one drink, a cash bar will be available for your next round.
We hope to see you on the roof!
